Warner Bros. today announced that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice release will be moved to February 25, 2016.

Marvel and Warner Bros. have been at an unofficial stand off ever since the latter had announced that it would release Batman v Superman in May 2016. Marvel had already announced an untitled film set to release the same day and later went on to name the release as Captain America 3.

Pitting Batman v Superman against Marvel was considered a terrible idea given how hugely successful the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been. Marvel has been expanding massively with the release of each of its films, breaking its own records at the box office with every successive release. So the announcement of the change in release date comes as a smart move on the part of Warner Bros.

Marvel fans are not surprised that Warner Bros decided to back down.

Warner Bro's also announced dates for nine other DC releases, one of which we know to be the Justice League film. Could a Wonder Woman film be in the offing? Fans may want to mark their calendars:
