Then head to Art of Living teachers Tanya and Natasha Pratap’s garage sale for a discounted bag of goodies!.
You can pick up a Ritu Kumar ghagra for Rs 5,000, a Louis Vuitton handbag for Rs 250 or an Esprit watch for a little over a grand at this garage sale. A not-so-common concept, the garage sale has been put together by sisters Tanya and Natasha Pratap.
Both Art of Living teachers, Natasha says, “Yoga teaches us not to hoard or accumulate. That’s where the idea for the sale came up. There are so many things that I’ve hardly used or don’t need anymore.”
While most people give old clothes to an orphanage, Natasha has an interesting outlook. “A lot of the time, we have clothes that they won’t wear – it’s just not their kind so the clothes will anyway not be used therefore here, people who really want it come and buy.”
Putting out fliers, they have been flooded with calls. A big surprise since they didn’t expect such a response. The sale will be held this weekend from 10 am-5 pm at Ruby Mansion, Napean Sea Road.
From make-up to party clothes to work wear, bags, shoes, books and music, their ‘life’ is on sale.
“We’ve travelled extensively and this is a collection of things over the years. So you can find something that we’ve picked up at Bangalore airport or at a snazzy store in London,” says Tanya. Priced from Rs 25 up to Rs 7,500, there’s something for everyone.
“There are some clothes that we bought but were the wrong size,” adds Tanya, “though one thing about a garage sale is that you should be honest and not sell really unusable stuff.”
