Actor Vivek Oberoi is in a mad rush these days. Keen to be by his pregnant wife Priyanka’s side — who is expecting their first child in early February — the actor is busy wrapping up all his work commitments before taking off on a month-long paternity leave.

“I want to be there (in Bengaluru) with Priyanka when our child arrives,” says Vivek, who’s all geared up to be a hands-on father. “I have read, I don’t know how many books, been to all the doctor’s appointments with Priyanka, have been busy doing up the nursery... I just can’t wait to be a dad and hold our bundle of joy,” adds the actor who had been shuttling to and from Bengaluru so far. “I am feeling on top of the world already,” shares Vivek excitedly.

Talking about balancing his hectic work schedule here — Vivek has as many as five films in hand — the actor reveals that he will be working out of Bengaluru until the baby arrives. “I will return post-March and start dubbing for Krissh 3, followed by Grand Masti,” says Vivek, who is currently busy with his upcoming film Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story in which he plays a small-time bhai. “He’s a gangster with a heart of gold,” he says.

Point out that right from Company to Shootout At Lokhandwala, playing a bhai has proven lucky for him and he clarifies, “It’s going to be a cross between my character in Saathiya and Company.”
The year, admits Vivek, is a promising one. “Diverse roles in films apart, I will become a dad soon, which is the most important role of my life. I am thrilled beyond words,” he says.
The actor’s on a high — personally and professionally at present. Looking back, however, Vivek confesses that life’s not exactly been a dream run. “But the nightmares are long forgotten. Priyanka has brought much calm and peace in my life. I have emerged stronger today. I am like that punching man, the harder you punch the stronger and faster it bounces back. So, I’ve taken enough punches, now I’m bouncing back,” laughs Vivek.
