Netflix announced its first Indian straight to streaming movie in collaboration with Ronnie Screwvala's new production company RSVP.

A romantic comedy about an ad hoc couple that enters a marriage of convenience to buy a flat in Mumbai. Titled Love Per Square Foot, the movie will feature Vicky Kaushal (Masaan) and Angira Dhar (Bang Baja Baarat) as main lead. Acting stalwarts Ratna Pathak Shah, Supriya Pathak, and Raghuvir Yadav are joining the cast to be directed by film and stage personality, Anand Tiwari.

 

About the collaboration, Ronnie Screwvala said, "How, where and when great stories are watched is changing every day. Our younger audiences chose their mediums. We love to disrupt and innovate in this space and this is a first of its kind for South Asia.  We are thrilled to come together with Netflix and break new ground by reaching film-lovers around the world directly with Netflix."

Screwvala was the founder of UTV film. He became head of Disney India when the media giant was sold to the company. He resigned from the post in late 2013.
