'Dishoom' surpasses expectations to become the sixth biggest opener at Box Office in 2016!

Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer action adventure flick Dishoom has surpassed all expectations at the box office with its opening weekend collections. When Dishoom hit the theatres on July 29, trade experts believed that it would collect upto Rs 30 crore on its opening weekend. However, Dishoom has managed to not only exceed the expectations but also beat Shahid Kapoor's Udta Punjab to become the movie with sixth highest opening weekend of this year.

Dishoom gathered about Rs 14 crore on Sunday, thereby collecting Rs 37,32 crore in the first weekend. Earlier, the film had collected Rs 11.05 crore on Friday and Rs 12.02 crore on Saturday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that the overall business of Dishoom was affected due to heavy rains in the country else the collections would have been higher.

He took to his Twitter account to give the figures of the top 7 opening films of the year and the collections of Dishoom. Taran Adarsh tweeted:

Although, the movie has garnered mixed reviews from the critics, it hasn't affected the crowd that is flocking to the theatres to watch the film.
