It's seemingly evident that the makers of Varun Dhawan - Alia Bhatt's Badrinath Ki Dulhania have blatantly copied stills from Telugu film Garam. However, the south film producer feels that imitation is the best form of flattery!

Karan Johar's Badrinath Ki Dulhania's (starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt) poster has been quite the talking point in B-Town circles thanks to its striking similarities to a poster of Telugu film Garam (2016), which also features Kannada star Saikumar Pudipeddi's son, Aadi and Adah Sharma.

Check it out here and spot the similarities:

Garam's producer Babji Bagavatula told Midday, "The similarity is uncanny. But we believe the film industry is like one family. We don't mind it (resemblance); their poster looks lovely. Karan (Johar, producer of Badrinath Ki Dulhania) is also a filmmaker like us. We won't want to jeopardise their film. We also copy stuff, because ours is an industry that runs on borrowed ideas."

Co-producer Saikumar was tickled with the similarity. "Garam is a family drama that deals with a young, mischievous boy. I don't think there is any similarity between the stories of the two films. But clearly, people making Badrinath... liked our concept."

Bollywood isn't new to posters and films looking strikingly similar.
