A division bench of Justice S C Dharmadhikari and Justice Dr Shalini Phansalkar Joshi had a meeting in the morning when the company mentioned the matter for urgent hearing of their plea posted it post lunch. Then the company had prayed that the CBFC which has passed the order on June 6, suggesting several cuts in the film has not yet given the order to them. However, in the intervening period the board served its order to the company.

Following which, counsel for the company Ravi Kadam argued before the court that it would like to amend the plea and challenge the board. Accordingly the court allowed them to do so and posted the matter for further hearing on June 9.

The CBFC is said to have reportedly demanded an alteration of the narrative. The makers were apparently even asked to drop 'Punjab' from the title and suggested that the film be set in a fictitious setting instead of a particular state.
