Lions Gate Entertainment revealed plans for the series during a November 10 earnings call, but did not provide further outlines for the project, according to Variety.

Through its Summit Entertainment subsidiary, Lions Gate had provided distribution for all five Twilight film adaptations -- $3.3 billion's worth of box office returns -- based on Meyer's four novel series.

Along with the last two Twilight films, Meyer has since accrued producer credits on Jerusha Hess's Sundance-nominated Austenland, the adaptation of her sci-fi adventure novel The Host, starring Saoirse Ronan, and upcoming supernatural drama Down a Dark Hall.
