Popular Telugu movie comedian Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, 69, died on Monday. He was being treated for various illnesses at KIMS in Hyderabad for the last year and a half years. Reports say that he passed away at the hospital.

Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao was a drama artist and has performed in over 1000 plays. He was noticed by director Vamsi who then cast him in 2002 in his film Aunu Valliddaru Istapaddaru. He became a popular comedian and acted with almost all the top stars in Tollywood. 

Having worked in more than 70 films,  Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao popular movies include Dongaramudu and Party, Simhadri, SathyamEvadi Gola Vadide, Kanchana Mala Cable TV, Rakhi and Sainikudu. The last movie he appeared in was Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Charitra in 2014. One of the most popular catchphrases he coined was ‘Athie OK’.

Many people in from the Telugu film industry have taken to social media to express their condolence.
