And while Sonam has already had more than her share of fun and fame at the Croisette, papa Anil put his own plans on the backseat. The actor, who has been jet-setting across the globe revealed that he couldn’t attend the international film festival as he was on a tight schedule.

Speaking from London where he’s currently shooting for his action thriller Tez, Anil revealed, “I would’ve loved to attend the film festival, but I’ve been too busy with my films. I had already allocated the dates to Tez and just because it’s Cannes calling, I won’t put Bollywood on the backburner.”

However, that doesn’t mean that the actor isn’t keen on attending Cannes anymore. There’s buzz that he may be part of the festival next year as part of one of his international projects.

“Yes, it’s something that I’ll be looking forward to.” But what about talks of his presenting the latest Mission Impossible installment this time around? “Yes, there were talks, but nothing was confirmed,” says the actor who’s recently also signed his next international film Cities with Clive Owen.

Talking about juggling his time between Hollywood and Bollywood, Anil shares that it’s a lot of fun. “I am enjoying both the experiences. I wouldn’t compare the two industries though, and as an actor, ultimately, it’s all about playing your part to the hilt and enjoying the process completely. Whether it’s English or Hindi cinema, what difference does it make at the end of the day?” he quips.

As for Bollywood, Anil says that this is where his heart will always belong and he has no plans to move to Hollywood permanently. “I am what I am because of our cinema. So I don’t think that I’ll ever give up Bollywood. Besides, what’s the need? I think cinema is so global today that actors are able to enjoy working on several fronts without being labeled,” he signs off.
