After Vikas Bahl and Varun Grover were accused of alleged sexual harassment, rumour mills had it that the second season of popular show, starring Saif Ali Khan and  Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sacred Games has been scrapped.

However, there is a good news for the fans and followers of the action-thriller. 

The team has started the shooting for the second season, and in fact they have already started the production of the second part.

By the end of the first season, the show's female lead Radhika Apte's character had succumbed to death. 

And as per BollywoodLife's report, a new character will be entering the series that will add much drama to the storyline. 

A source told the website that the makers have zeroed down National Award-winning actress Amruta Subhash to play a prominent part in the show.

Although the details about the character have not yet been revealed, speculations are rife that there is a good chance that Amruta Subhash could be paired opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui's character Ganesh Gaitonde

However, nothing is set in stone yet. 

However, if it happens, it will see Subhash and Siddiqui collaborating yet again. 

The two shared screen space in Raman Raghav 2.0, wherein Amruta Subhash essayed the role of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's on-screen sister. 

Subash, 39, has been part of several Marathi projects and has also won a National Award for her work in Shwaas. 

According to the same report by the website, Elnaaz Norouzi, who essayed the role of Zoya Mirza in the first season, will also become the female lead as her character graph will take a big jump.

Best known for his part in Gangs of Wasseypur, actor Bhupesh Singh is also said to join the cast. 

Both Bhupesh Singh and Amruta Subhash have started the filming of the project.

The first season of Sacred Games was based on Vikram Chandra's novel by the same name.
