The Tatler: Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra win Padma Bhushan awards

The Padma Awards were conferred upon the winners yesterday. The list of those confirmed to receive the Padma Awards was announced in January and were conferred upon the winners yesterday.

Actress Shabana Azmi was conferred the Padma Bhushan for Art -cinema, Maharashtra. Actor Dharmendra was also awarded the Padma Bhushan in the same category. Late musician Bhupen Hazarika was awarded the Padma Vibhushan for Art - vocal music, Assam. Filmmaker Mira Nair also won the Padma Bhushan in the Art - cinema, Delhi category.

Shabana Azmi posted on her account on micro-blogging site Twitter, "Just received the Padma Bhushan from the President of India. Honoured, humbled and wish to thank all those who made this journey possible."
