FAVOURITE AWARD SHOW

The Oscars is the only award show I watch every year! The great thing about the awards this year is that there are no controversies surrounding #OscarsSoWhite. The diverse nominations include Dev Patel for his performance in Lion. With the antics of Jimmy Kimmel to look forward to, the 89th Academy Awards have much to offer!—ANANYA SIVARAMAN, 16, MUMBAI

OSCARS ARE BETTER

I enjoy watching the Oscars because it is conducted with such grace and even the speeches are so classy, unlike the award shows in India. The performances from our industry fall short compared to the Oscars. I hope we can learn something   —NEYA NAIK, 18, MUMBAI

GO JIMMY!

The Oscars are an accomplishment for anyone in the field of movies. I am looking forward to watching Jimmy Kimmel host the show with his tidbits of comedy. I hope La La Land wins as I think it was spectacular. I am also biased towards Emma Stone!—SHAYKH ABDUL, 19, NEW DELHI

LA LA LAND GLORY

The nominees are deserving artists which makes the event so important. This year I’m rooting for Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and Meryl Streep for their performances in La La Land and Florence Foster Jenkins respectively. I think Suicide Squad should win in the category for make-up.—MEERA TRIVEDI, 16, MUMBAI

TEAM LA LA LAND

I really hope La La Land wins, as it was great. I am going to watch this year just for La La Land. I also hope Casey Affleck wins for Manchester by the Sea as it will be cool to have both the siblings as Oscar winners.—FAIZA KHAN, 19, MUMBAI

A NIGHT OF EXCITEMENT

I love how well they dress, so dignified and wonderful. I also love the energy and excitement that you see on people’s faces. They look so surprised and excited about who will win unlike the Indian award ceremonies. I am really excited to watch the Oscars!—AARON MOSES, 18, MUMBAI

DESERVING WINS

I just love the atmosphere at the Oscars, the excitement and the way the awards are presented. I also like the fact that the movies which deserve to win go home with the golden lady instead of just giving it to the big box office grosser. I liked La La Land and I think it will win in the major categories.—ADITYA SAH, 18, MUMBAI

REAL-LIFE FANTASY

The Oscars ceremony is like a fantasy but feels very real. The people, like one of us have made their dream come true, which makes it real and tangible. I am happy that a diverse group has been nominated this year. I am very excited for Dev Patel. I hope actors other than Meryl Streep get a chance to win. I hope Moonlight and Lion win big.—VINAYAK MEHTA, 19, NEW DELHI
