The Chainsmokers had teased the new collaboration with Martin in September 2016 by sharing clips of Martin jamming with the members Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart.

The Chainsmokers' percussion mixed with Martin's piano seemed charming then and sounds sublime now.

At first, it was unclear if the new single was a Chris Martin solo with the DJs or a collaboration with the band because other members of Coldplay were not seen in the short footage taken in the recording studio. But when the band appeared on the stage to perform the song, all doubts were cleared.

The lyrics talk about the superhero within, which a person just wants to be with. No need for Herculean efforts, no need for the Caped Crusader or the Webslinger.

I'm not looking for somebodyWith some superhuman giftsSome superheroSome fairytale blissJust something I can turn toSomebody I can kiss

The new single will be part of The Chainsmokers' first studio album, Memories Do Not Open, releasing on April 7.

The album will feature 'Something Just Like This' and their other hits including 'Paris.'
