Mahesh Bhatt recently visited the sets of Yaar Mera Superstar 2 to promote his upcoming film. When the host asked him about his daughter Alia and what she has taught him, he said, “She has a thirst, which is beyond my comprehension. She has the longing to transcend the cinematic space and look beyond. I said, ‘Look Alia, whenever you get a little too impressed with your performance, just take a look at the work of the mightiest and it will demolish you. You need to deconstruct yourself all the time’. And she said to me, ‘I just don’t want to be only an actor. I want to be something more’. At the age of 23 she’s such a big star, she has become famous, is standing on her two feet without holding her father’s hand. One of the greatest gifts she gave me which is not known much is that after SOTY (Student of the Year) she gave me her first autograph and it said, ‘Thank You Papa, for not helping me at all’. It is one of my treasured gifts.”
