Renowned Telugu writer Abburi Ravi turns actor with Operation Gold Fish
Nandi Award-winning writer Abburi Ravi who’s known for his work in several hit films including Kick, Mr Perfect and Bommarillu amongst several others is set to make his acting debut with director Adivi Sai Kiran’s Operation Gold Fish.
The first look of Ravi from the film as Ghazi Baba was released by leading Telugu filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas on Friday. Apparently, the character is that of a terrorist and took quite some convincing for Ravi to agree. “It took me three months to convince Ravi garu to essay the role of Ghazi Baba,” shared the film’s director Sai Kiran sharing the details of how bringing the writer on board happened.
Speaking at the launch, Ravi said: “I am elated that Trivikram unveiled this look because it was him who introduced me as a writer into the film industry and I cannot talk about my career without mentioning him. As for the role, I never imagined that I would be cast to play something like this. In general you see me as this devout guy with a bottu on the forehead, and now I am playing a terrorist. It’s really funny because in this film my character massacres people."
Operation Gold Fish is a story based on true incidents and stars Aadi Saikumar in the lead role as NSG commando Arjun Pandit. Sasha Chettri, who became famous with her Airtel 4G ads is the female lead in the film that also stars Karthik Raju, Parvateesham, Nithya Naresh, Manoj Nandam, Krishnudu, Anish Kuruvilla, Rao Ramesh and Ramajogayya Sastry in key roles. Sricharan Pakala has scored the film’s music.
