They can take hope from Ayushmann Khurrana, who after the sleeper hit Vicky Donor, had three no-shows Nautanki Saala, Bewakoofiyan and Hawaizaada. And now, he has delivered a film that everyone has loved -- Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The BhattsWhat went wrong: Nothing quite worked like Aashiqui 2 did. Their last two productions Citylights and Khamoshiyan under-performed at the box-office.What now? Now, the Bhatts have Mr X coming up, followed by the fiercely autobiographical Hamari Adhuri Kahani for which they've roped in their Aashiqui 2 director Mohit Suri. Foolproof? Lets hope so. Nostalgia always works.Saif Ali KhanWhat went wrong: His last three films Bullett Raja, Humshakals and Happy Ending were box-office duds. Clearly, his solo-hero projects aren't working. What now? Audiences still remember Main Anari Tu Khiladi and Dillagi with Akshay Kumar, Hum Saath Saath Hain with Salman Khan, Dil Chahta Hai with Aamir Khan and Kal Ho Na ho with Shah Rukh Khan fondly. Playing parallel leads has always worked for him. maybe, embrace that again?Parineeti ChopraWhat went wrong: Let down by the banners she trusted. Her YRF films Daawat-E-Ishq and Kill/Dil were misfires. Prior to these Hasee Toh Phasee didn't set the box-office on fire but it did get Parineeti the right kind of attention. What now? She has rightfully taken time off to focus on getting the right scripts. And we know that Pari has it in her to dazzle us and reclaim her mojo.Imran KhanWhat went wrong: Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobara and Gori Tere Pyar Mein did not work. Vikramaditya Motwane's Bhavesh Joshi quietly passed on from Imran to Sidharth Malhotra and is now shelved. What now? Imran has Nikhil Advani's Katti Batti and Ekta Kapoor's Milan Talkies to fall back on. His advantage is that he is different from the rest of his contemporaries. He should capitalise on that. He should do films no-one else attempts. That's one thing he can learn from uncle Aamir Khan. His career will turn around. It's just one film awaySonakshi SinhaWhat went wrong: The lucky mascot ran into rough weather with Action Jackson, Tevar and the Rajnikanth-starrer-Linga.What now? Time to do a serious career re-think and stop focusing on getting box-office numbers right. There's hope. After Lootera, Sonakshi has another performance-oriented role in the Amrita Pritam bio-pic.Sonakshi SinhaWhat went wrong: Rush, Ek Thi Daayan, Ghanchakkar and Raja Natwarlal were all disasters. What now? Lose the serial kisser tag. Reinvent your career, Mr Hashmi. The Azharuddin bio-pic should do the trick. More form, less formula.Vidya BalanWhat went wrong: From doing no wrong to not getting it right at all, Vidya's career took a nosedive with Ghanchakkar, Shaadi Ke Side Effects and Bobby Jasoos. What now? It's time to re-apply those powerhouse histrionics to less flimsy plots. Mohit Suri's Hamari Adhuri Kahani may just be what the doctor ordered.TRADE TALKTaran AdarshThere is nothing wrong with these careers. It just clearly indicates that the content was rejected. Also, it's important to space out your releases and to let a significant gap divide one release of yours from another. It's high time our filmmakers and studios realised this.Atul Mohan: "It's all part and parcel of the entertainment business. Bad scripts, bad films and over-confidence are undoing many big films. Every filmmaker and star cannot go right each time. Isn't failure a part of success? I hope these artistes take their failures in their stride and treat the setbacks as a learning experience. The mistakes should be corrected in their future projects.
