In February this year, the Supreme Court had ordered Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's wife Latha to pay Rs 6.20 crores dues to a private ad company within twelve weeks. The dues have been pending for selling the rights for Rajini's 2014 'Kochadiiyaan'.

As Rajinikanth's family has still not cleared the dues and on Tuesday the SC once again pulled up Latha Rajinikanth for non-payment of dues.

Back in 2016, Ad Bureau had filed a petition where they revealed that they were brought on board to help with the post-production work of 'Kochadaiiyaan' and loaned an amount of Rs 10 crore to complete the big budget film. However, Latha Rajinikanth as the Director of Media One sold the rights to Eros International without keeping them in a loop.

PTI reported the verdict in the case in February 2018, “A bench comprising Justices Ranjan Gogoi and R Banumathi clarified that if the firm Mediaone Global Entertainment Ltd does not pay the dues to AD-Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd within three months, then Ms Latha would have to pay the amount as per the undertaking was given by her. Within the aforesaid period of three months, if the company – Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited does not pay the balance dues, the respondent-accused i.e. Latha Rajinikanth has undertaken before the court to pay the amount due.”

Made on a budget of whopping Rs 125 crores, 'Kochadiiyaan' was an animated historical drama directed by Rajini's daughter Soundary Rajinikanth
