Arijit Singh has a fan following of his own. So does Salman Khan. And when Arijit Singh decided to talk about his fallout with Salman in public, the audience stood divided. Some criticised the singer for posting an apology on Facebook and then later deleting it and the others respected the gutsy attitude.

Nevertheless, the song Arijit Singh had sung for Sultan has not been retained. Yes, the leading singer had crooned the melodious Jag Ghoomeya but it was his long-lasting feud with Salman that came in his way.

After the Facebook post, this is the first time Arijit Singh has opened up on the entire incident and he sequentially explains how things fell into place and off it. "This song in Sultan which was deleted was very important. When you see the film, you’ll get to know why it’s so special," the singer told IANS.

How did he bag the song? Vishal Dadlani roped him in, he reveals. "I was out of Mumbai when I got a call from Vishal Dadlani saying I have to come to Mumbai immediately to record a song for ‘Sultan’. I was really excited. I felt Salman sir has finally forgiven me. I went to Mumbai and recorded the song. It’s an amazing song."

But it was too good to be true! Soon, he got a shocker from Vishal who told him that his song was eventually dropped from the album. "Vishal called to say Salman sir also liked the song. I thought everything was okay. I planned to dedicate the song to Salman sir after the release, go to his house and thank him. Then I got an sms from Vishal Dadlani. He informed me that my song couldn’t be kept in ‘Sultan’. Vishal said Salman sir had forgiven me, but I couldn’t sing for him," he told the agency.

Now, we are waiting to find out Salman's version of the story.
