'Steve Jobs' writer Aaron Sorkin apologises to Apple CEO Tim Cook over 'opportunistic' remarks
Sorkin apologised to Cook and hoped that Apple CEO will watch the movie and enjoy it as much he enjoys Apple products.
After engaging in an indirect verbal spat with Apple CEO Tim Cook over the upcoming movie Steve Jobs, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin now has apologised.
It started when Cook, while appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, called the movie, starring Michael Fassbender, 'opportunistic'. He also added, “I hate this. It’s not a great part of our world,” reports Variety.
Responding to the comment, Sorkin said in a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "Nobody did this movie to get rich. Secondly, Tim Cook should really see the movie before he decides what it is."
The final jab came when he said, "Third, if you've got a factory full of children in China assembling phones for 17 cents an hour you've got a lot of nerve calling someone else opportunistic."
The apology was issued via E! News video. In the video, Sorkin apologised to Cook and hoped that Apple CEO will watch the movie and enjoy it as much he enjoys Apple products.
Steve Jobs is directed by Danny Boyle and is set to release on October 9.
