'Soorarai Pottru' trailer: Suriya brings Air Deccan founder Capt. GR Gopinath's story to life in this inspiring movie

The trailer for Soorarai Pottru is finally out. Starring Suriya in the leading role, the film is set to be an Amazon Prime Video Original and is adapted from the book Simply Fly written on the life of Air Deccan founder Capt. G. R. Gopinath, a retired Army captain, who founded the low-cost airline. Suriya plays the role of Gopinath in the film co-starring Aparna Balamurali, Dr M Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, Krishna Kumar and Kaali Venkat.

In the trailer, we see the conviction and determination of Gopinath (Suriya) to make travelling by flight affordable to people. He struggles a lot and faces opposition from several people but that doesn't stop him from being helpful to the needy. The trailer also shows the flying and crashing of Deccan Air along with the eventual success he faces.

The film is written and directed by Sudha Kongara. It's produced by 2D Entertainment & Sikhya Entertainment. Soorarai Pottru is all set to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from November 12, 2020.
