Sonu Sood is known for his generosity. Last heard, he bought cycles for the poor people who came walking to meet him at his gym in Punjab. Now in Mumbai, he has sponsored the heart surgery of a three-month-old infant. A source says, “Sonu always makes it a point to visit Siddhivinayak temple whenever he travels to South Mumbai. This time while seeking Lord Ganesha’s blessings, he saw a woman sobbing. On speaking to her, he learnt of her infant's heart problem - it was on the right-hand side and surgery was urgently required to shift it to the correct side. Without a second thought, an emotional Sonu decided to sponsor all expenses for the baby’s surgery. He got all the medical facilities arranged immediately.”

The surgery was performed at the HN Reliance Hospital. The source adds, “Sonu is in touch with the family post the surgery, calls the father everyday and visits every couple of days. He hasn't done something like this before, though he does do a lot of charity work in general. The story of the baby had really disturbed him and he immediately wanted to do something about it. In Punjab, he has an educational trust under his mother’s name. She was a professor who used to help students for free, so Sonu’s trust sponsors the free education of many children.”
