Sonam Kapoor is back on her feet

Actress Sonam Kapoor who was struck down with a bout of typhoid resumed work yesterday.

“Sonam is still weak but she is so bored sitting at home that she is raring to come back to the sets now. She is the sort of person who can’t be in bed even for half an hour if she is not sleeping. However, the doctor has still advised her to take things slowly and not rush into too much work,” says a close friend of the star.

The actress was down with typhoid coupled with high fever and was advised complete bed rest. In the past week, Sonam according to her friends, was so weak that she couldn’t get out of her bed for two full days. “She was on a liquid diet for a day and was so weak for two days that she was lying down all the time.

Everybody got worried about her because she is so chirpy and jumping around all the time, otherwise. The bubbly Sonam was sorely missed. Her papa (actor Anil Kapoor) was taking updates about his daughter several times a day. Thankfully, she is back on her feet now,” her friend adds.

However, the doctor has put several restrictions on Sonam’s food for the time being. “She has been advised only to take home-made food and strictly follow the prescribed diet. Sonam has promised everybody that she is going to be strict about her food and water intake. She is still weak and nobody wants her to fall sick again. She has a lot of work (in upcoming films) in the pipeline which requires at least 30 days of continous shooting to make up for the lost time,” the source ends.

Interestingly, Sonam will have to go back to the hospital again after her recovery from typhoid because she has to start shooting at a hospital with actor Shahid Kapur for Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut, Mausam.
