The songs have been penned by Nida Fazli and Hassan Kamal and are composed by Ali-Ghani from Rajasthan.
Ruhan Kapoor, son of legendary singer Mahendra Kapoor has decided to cut an album of Sufi songs which his late father wanted to sing, but could not.
"A few days before he passed away, my father had heard these four songs and decided to sing them. However, that wish remained unfulfilled," Ruhan told said.
The songs have been penned by Nida Fazli and Hassan Kamal and are composed by Ali-Ghani from Rajasthan.
"Now, as a tribute to him, I wish to complete this project by singing them. They are very nice and melodious songs," the 45-year-old singer-cum-actor said.
The album is expected to be out by year-end, he said, adding more songs would be added.
"I have also decided to redo a few of his hit numbers. A new treatment would be given to evergreen songs," he said.
Mahendra Kapoor, who gave us jewels like Chalo Ek Baar Phir Se Ajnabi Ban Jaye Hum Dono and Neele Gagan Ke Tale... passed away on September 27, 2008.
Ruhan has acted in movies like Yash Chopra's Faasle and Love 86, in which he starred along with Govinda. He has pop albums Oh My Darling, Dil Tera Diwana and Ishq Rab Ki Dua to his credit.
