Shelton, 39, filed his divorce documents nearly two weeks ago, and a judge signed off on the papers on Monday afternoon in Oklahoma, reported Us magazine.

It came hours after the country superstars, a staple in the music awards show circuit and beloved by countless fans, confirmed their split with a joint statement released by their representatives.

"This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends, and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter," the statement read.

They first met during an onstage duet at CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert back in 2005, when Shelton was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern, who he divorced in 2006. This was 31-year-old Lambert's first marriage.
