Shruti Haasan to play Nayanthara’s role in Telugu remake of 'Thani Oruvan'

Jayam Raja’s Thani Oruvan will be remade in Telugu with Ram Charan under the direction of Surender Reddy. Shruti Haasan has reportedly been approached for the role of female lead which was played by Nayanthara in the original film. Reports say that Shruti has said yes to the producer and will now reprise this role. 

The star has been busy with her Tamil and Hindi films. Her recent film Vedalam with Ajith, in fact, has been declared a superhit. She is said to be excited to work once again with Ram Charan after their previous film Yevadu.

Thani Oruvan made over Rs 70 crores at the box office. It starred Jayam Raja, Arvind Swami and Nayanthara. Producer DVV Danayya of Universal Media had acquired the remake rights but now it looks like Ram Charan’s uncle Allu Arvind will produce the movie under the banner of Geetha Arts. 

Currently, Ram Charan is on holiday with his family in the US and may return to India early December.
