Shraddha Kapoor’s a natural: Padmini Kolhapure

Actress Padmini Kolhapure is full of praises for her neice and daughter of actor Shakti Kapoor — Shraddha Kapoor. But  tell Padmini that a birdie told us that her son Priyank too aspires to be an actor and she laughs it off, “It is entirely his own decision. He’s always dreamed of becoming an actor and I’m totally supportive.” She adds, “Shraddha’s a natural. I’m sure she’ll go a long way. She is also hard working and dedicated.”

Talking about herself, Padmini says that she recently finished shooting for a Malayalam film Karmayogi — an adaptation of the play Hamlet and says that films will always be her first love and insists that she is still rediscovering herself as an actress.

She is also awaiting the release of the film Bachpan where she shares screen space with actress Helen. “It’s a thriller and Helen plays my mother,” she explains.

“My plate is pretty full now and it’s good fun,” she says.

Padmini also dabbled in theatre as she was recently seen in two theatre productions — a family comedy called Saath Rahega Always and Aasmaan Se Gire Khajoor Pe Atke — a play about life after death, with Shakti Kapoor and Naveen Bawa. “We plan to take these plays abroad too,” she reveals.
