Shahid Kapoor told us during Udta Punjab interviews that he is jobless. Not anymore. The actor has signed his next pet project— Sanjay Bhansali's Padmavati.
While not many actors were willing to take up the second lead, Shahid stepped in only after SLB listened to all his demands. Shahid wanted a change in his role and wanted Bhansali to make it more meaty and prominent. Not just that, Sasha hiked his fee to a whopping Rs 8-10 crore, which is also the highest he's ever been paid.
Shahid was spotted at Bhansali's office recently and it only makes things more official. A huge set is being built at Mehboob Studios, Bandra which will resemble Chittor of the period that the film is set in. Shahid plays Deepika Padukone aka Rani Padmavati's husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh while Ranveer Singh plays his arch nemesis Alauddin Khilji.
