Amitabh Bachchan eagerness to connect with his fans has made him a huge hit on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. On his 70th birthday, Amitabh Bachchan completes 879 days on the micro-blogging site twitter since May 17, 2010 and it has been quite a remarkable journey.

Amitabh Bachchan became the first person in the country to have more than 36 lakh followers on twitter, with a global rank of 175 in terms of the followers. On a daily basis, more than 4,100 new people follow him on twitter. It’s not only people following Big B, but even he is following others.

The official account of Big B on twitter, on which Abhishek Bachchan was the first person who he followed on twitter, his first tweet was to his son, "hey baby !! I made it on twitter!!! Yeeaaaaaahhhh!! ... sorry.. just got carried away... safe onward flight and love."

The second person Big B followed was Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, followed by Suhel Seth, who is the managing Partner of Counselage India, late veteran actor Shammi Kapoor and Bollywood King Khan Shahrukh Khan.
