It has been almost a year since we saw Shah Rukh Khan light up the silver screen. After the record-smashing Chennai Express, Shah Rukh was busy shooting for Farah Khan's Happy New Year which boasts of an ensemble cast and an extravagant musical outing.

Adding to the hype around the film, Red Chillies Entertainment announced that the first look of the SRK-Deepika Padukone starrer will be unveiled at Sahara Star hotel in Mumbai on August 14, on the eve of Independence Day. The launch would be attended by the full cast - Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah, along with director Farah Khan and composer duo Vishal Shekhar

Unlike other trailer launches, Happy New Year has come up with an innovative promotional campaign that will include some surprise performances based on the 'Indiawaale' theme in the film along with a huge digital campaign. The film will be distributed by Yash Raj Films and will release on Diwali this year, in three different languages- Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
