Shah Rukh Khan was bestowed with the 'Knight of the Legion of Honor' by French minister of foreign affairs Laurent Fabius, at a special event held at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai.Fabius, who was on an official visit to India, said that the French people really praise the 48-year-old stars' talent and kindness, which helps brings together people from across the world to his films, the Hollywood Reporter reported.Meanwhile Khan, who had also received the French honor 'Knight in the Order of Arts and Letter's in 2007, said that he felt "humbled" by the accolade and was even more motivated to take Indian cinema a step ahead.

The honour, which was created by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, is the highest reward given by the French Republic for exceptional service to France regardless of the nationality, and has been awarded to other celebrated Indian personalities as well including Amitabh Bachchan, late director Satyajit Ray and late sitar maestro Ravi Shankar.
