In an interview, the elated singer-turned actress is quoted: "I thought the movie was forgotten, though the pain and suffering I went through in portraying the prostitute will always remain with me."

Monali feels that the achievement has given her the strength to pursue a double career as a singer and an actress.

Having rejected a number of offers for their quality, the Sawar Loon singer explained that she won't accept everything that comes her way, neither songs nor movies, she's no hurry. She wants to be known as a good singer who can act, reports suggested.

It is also reported that Monali will be soon seen in a movie directed by Abbas Tyrewala called Mango. Explaining her characterisation in the film, Monali told that she will play a feisty girl who cons three men played by Rannvijay, his brother Harman and Chandan Roy Sanyal into believing that she loves each one of them. After the hard-hitting role in Lakshmi, Monali said she enjoyed Abbas' naughty comedy.
