Ranjan Sehgal, who was a popular name on Television and had featured in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-Randeep Hooda starring film 'Sarbjit', is no more. The actor, well known in both Hindi and Punjabi TV industry, died of multiple organ failure at the age of 36.

Ranjan breathed his last in Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh on Saturday. The actor was quarantining there since some time.

His close friend Charanjeet Singh Kamboj and co-actor Sheetal Pandya confirmed the news of his demise. Sheetal, who worked with Ranjan in 'Crime Patrol, said, "We worked on two episodes of crime patrol together.. I clearly remember us discussing the greatness of Charlie Chaplin at length in between shots.. horrible news...."

Ranjan, who had started his career as a theatre actor, was working on a show which would air on Zee Punjabi. The actor made his mark on Punjabi TV with the show 'Chadya Chann Samundar Paar'. He had also worked on the renowned Hindi TV show 'Savdhan India'.
