Khan confirms about his sport plans, “Yes,  we are ready with the cricket league. As of now we have four teams — Bollywood (called the Mumbai Heroes), Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industries. Sohail (Khan) is handling it. I will be there to cheer for our boys. It will be as competitive as any other cricket tournament,” he smiles.

He adds, “This is just the beginning. We want all regional film industries like Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Bhojpuri  to join us.  It’s a serious affair.”

However, the actor is quick to emphasise that he’s just as passionate about football too. “Football is as big as cricket, in fact kids love it more as it’s easier to play and is a no-frills game. All it needs, unlike cricket, is an open space and a ball. But unfortunately there aren’t many football grounds here, and I want to concentrate on that first. Then there’s basketball, for which you need even lesser space and just a basket and a ball!” he adds.

Ask Khan about rumours of actor Ranbir Kapoor showing interest in being a part of the celebrity cricket team, and he says, “I don’t know if he is interested in cricket, but we’ve played football together and he plays well. When I do something for football, I shall keep him in mind.”
