Salman Khan’s trusted Man Friday willing to do anyting for 'bhai'
Gurmeet Singh aka Shera, swears to be there for Khan through good and foul weather
To dare to be different, you’ve got to be actor Salman Khan. Who else would have dared to let his bodyguard of 15 years, Shera, unveil the first look of his forthcoming film, Bodyguard.
And Shera aka Gurmeet Singh is more than just honoured. And if that wasn’t enough, he has also been roped in to shake a leg with Khan and actress Katrina Kaif in a special number for the same film.
“I have shot for the song with Salmanbhai and all this still seems so magical. He’s a huge star and for someone like him to show such trust in me is much more than just an honour,” says an overwhelmed Shera. Sources on the set reveal that he was a little apprehensive about the dance moves though.
“This is my first appearance in front of the camera with bhai. He just showed me a few dance steps but I needed a lot of rehearsals before the final take — I was scared and nervous but it was an unforgettable experience” recollects Shera.
Quiz him on his proximity to one of the most talked about actors in Bollywood — both for the right and not-so-right reasons and Shera says, “I have been with bhai for 15 years and his fan following has just kept growing. It’s crazy how everyone throngs to see him — just a glimpse or even touch him once to know how real he is. And bhai is so particular about the way we handle crowds — he’ll keep saying ‘Shera, sambhalke. Unhe lag na jaaye.’”
At an event recently, Khan said how he could trust Shera with his life. Quiz him on the same and he says, “I have and will always continue being bhai’s protector — anything for bhai. From him, I have learnt how to keep everyone in mind in whatever way possible.
Be it blood donation, charities, orphanages, bhai always takes out time for such causes. And it’s amazing to see how he loves his family. Be it his parents, siblings or their kids — he can go to any extent for them. And not to forget his pet dogs too — he’s so possessive about them.”
And what would be the most unforgettable thing about the actor? “Definitely food from his home. It’s better than the best hotel and bhai is a complete ghar ka khana person,” he ends.
