Now that the biopic Dhoni: The Untold Story has opened worldwide quite well, it’s time for the docu-feature on Sachin Tendulkar, A Billion Dreams to have its time in the sun, soon. And while Mahendra Singh Dhoni got paid fabulously for his biopic, Sachin has not charged a single penny for being a part of Sachin: A Billion Dreams.
Says a source close to the project, “The film is produced by Sachin’s friend Ravi Bhagchandka. Sachin couldn’t dream of charging any money from him. Not only did Sachin agree to open up about his life’s experiences to the team, he also persuaded his son to play the young Sachin on screen.”
The release date of Sachin: A Billion Dreams will be announced soon. Says a source, “Sachin’s film would be an immediate beneficiary of the success of the Dhoni biopic. The producers of Sachin will release their film to ride on the euphoria created by the Dhoni film.”
Considering that Sachin Tendulkar is a far bigger cricketing legend than MS Dhoni and that Sachin stars in his docu-feature while Dhoni doesn’t, there is absolutely no reason for the makers of the Sachin film to feel insecure.
