The year never lacked in drama. From the Khans to the newbie Kapoors, they either found themselves in sticky situations or went a rat-a-tat-tat at each other.

Here’s a lowdown of some of the most masaledaar moments in 2010:

‘Khan’troversial beginnings
Actor Shah Rukh Khan faced the wrath of a local political party over his comments to include Pakistani players in the 20-20 cricket games on the eve of his film My Name Is Khan’s release.

The party reportedly demanded that Khan apologise or they’ll halt the film’s release. What they did not expect was an unapologetic actor and a defiant public following, who came out in support to see his film despite the threats.

War of THE TWEETS
Twitter turned out to be B-Town’s favourite platform — to air their views and vent their darts. First it was actor Sonam Kapoor and writer Shobhaa De, then came the one with adman Prahlad Kakkar and actor Abhishek Bachchan.

In Sonam’s case, the war of words took a nasty turn when the actor and filmmaker Punit Malhotra (director of I Hate Luv Storys) called the writer a ‘fossil’ for her adverse comments on the film. The actor later apologised for her momentary lapse in judgment.

Prahlad Kakkar, on the other hand, took a dig at actor Abhishek Bachchan in his talk on star kids saying that he should have been in the Guinness Book of World Records for giving 17 flops.

Bachchan Jr retorted with a tweet saying that the adman should’ve been a stand-up comedian to be taken seriously. The adman later clarified that he made all those statements in good jest.

Friendship to FIENDSHIP
Actor Abhay Deol, apparently, miffed on being left out from the promotions of the film Aisha, said that the film was being promoted more for Sonam Kapoor’s fashion sense than anything else.

Needless to add, Sonam was upset. Matters escalated to such an extent that father and actor Anil Kapoor too got caught in the cross-fire. Another friendship went to dust when Salman Khan apparently made some unfavourable comments about director buddy Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Guzaarish. While Bhansali retreated into his shell, his film’s hero Hrithik Roshan came to his defence.

Splitsville? YIKES!
While the year had its share of hook-ups, there were umpteen break-ups as well! While most did not go on record about it, there were at least three alleged romances that kept the goss grind busy...

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone: The cute, oh-so-in-love couple parted ways when Deepika, apparently, couldn’t handle Ranbir’s roving eye syndrome. Reportedly a certain Katrina Kaif was to be blamed for trouble in paradise. Now much is being written about Deepika’s rumoured romance with Mallya Junior.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif: The on-off couple seem to have reportedly ended their long romance recently. Though neither of them publicly acknowledged their relationship in public, it was a known fact that the two were an item.

Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori: Film Kites did not manage to set box-office records, but Latina hottie Barbara Mori did. Rumours were rife of an affair between her and Hrithik, which however vanished with the debacle of the film.

Arun Nayar and Liz Hurley:
The break-up between Hollywood actor Elizabeth Hurley and Mumbai businessman Arun Nayar created quite a stir in the country. Liz, reportedly, linked to Australian cricketer Shane Warne tweeted that they had separated long ago. Though it is still unclear if a divorce is being considered, speculations are on. Businessman Arun Nayar has meanwhile returned to Mumbai to be with his family in tough times.

Going commando
The paparazzi had a field day at work when Czech beauty Yana Gupta decided to attend an event pantyless. The pretty actor who was dressed in a short black number was caught unawares when the photographers went ‘click click’. Yana took it all with a pinch of salt and later wrote an extensive article on her blog as to why it happened. Talk about being dare-bare!

Courting tensions
One of the most high profile weddings of the year ran into controversy when a certain Ayesha Siddiqui claimed to have been married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. And all this, when there were hardly any days left for the Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza to tie the knot with Shoaib.

The entire controversy died a natural death after the duo got married and came to Hyderebad to seek blessings from the Mirza khandaan.
