After the success of Kaabil in which he played the villain, Ronit Roy is onto his next: Munna Michael. Ronit plays Tiger Shroff’s father Michael in the film. What’s interesting is he will be seen as a background dancer of the ’90s in the film. In fact, he will even be seen dancing to some hit Bolly numbers of that era.

“There is a bit of dancing like Govinda. When I was told about it, I wasn’t sure how I will be able to do it, but I managed to finish it in a day. It’s the starting point of the film — what happens to him, how he finds Munna (Tiger) and how Michael Jackson (whom Munna idolises) is kind of a thread in the film. However, at no point do I dance with Tiger,” says Ronit who has been a part of dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in the past.

Unlike Kaabil in which he played the baddie, this film has him in a happy space. “It’s a performance-based character and not that dark or intense,” he reveals. Incidentally, the actor who plays a jailer in Lucknow Central co-starring Farhan Akhtar was also approached for Reema Kagti’s hockey-based film Gold, but it didn’t work out.
