Raqesh strong contender to replace Karan in 'Hamari Bahu Rajni Kant'

Karan V Grover opted out of the show Hamari Bahu Rajni Kant in which he plays the lead role because he wants to pursue a career in films. He made his debut in the film Wedding Pulav after which he has signed another movie.

Ever since he conveyed his decision to the makers of the show, they have been scouting for his replacement. It’s been a month and after considering several actors like Himanshoo Malhotra and Ashish Chowdhary for the role, they have now finally zeroed in on Raqesh Bapat.

Says a source. “Karan played the role of a mad scientist and did full justice to it. They wanted someone who would fit the character after Karan left. They found that zany zing in Raqesh, who can play the off-beat role perfectly. Karan had informed them that he will be available for the shoot only till September. Now, till the time they lock things with Raqesh, the makers will show his character missing from the serial. The current track is about some goons who are behind Shaan, so in order to mislead them, Riddhima Pandit who plays Rajni will be shown pushing him from a hill. Later, when Raqesh makes an entry it will be revealed what exactly happened,” explains the source.
