Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma is back. But this time it’s not with just any remake of his horror flicks or cult classics. he is working on a project that he claims is very special for him. Ramu has apparently started shooting for his film based on the 26/11 terror attacks that rattled Mumbai a few years back. Ramu was one of the first few people to be at the Taj Hotel post the attacks.

Accompanying Maharashtra’s then Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and his son, actor Riteish Deshmukh, he was apparently seen making notes of all the details.

A source says, “Footage of the CM, Riteish and Ramu doing the rounds of the hotel received a lot of flak and was called insensitive by many. However, now, Ramu is ready to shoot the film. The film, says sources will have a whole new star cast as Ramu does not want the actors to take away the attention from the real hero of the film — the real story. He has apparently been researching the topic ever since the attacks took place, viewing all the available footage of the time when Mumbai was under siege. Though rumours had suggested that Riteish was doing a part in the film, sources insist that he was never approached for it at all!’’
