Rajinikanth health update: Thalaiva stable, resting; fans offer prayers for speedy recovery

While a section of people took to social media to extend their good wishes, others offered prayers at shrines.

On Friday morning, superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad due to fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion. 

As soon as news of Thalaiva's ill-health spread, his fans and followers began praying for his speedy recovery and good health. While a section of people took to social media to extend their good wishes, others offered prayers at Dargahs, temples and other religious places and shrines, hoping that their beloved Thalaiva would get well soon.

Meanwhile, another update from Apollo hospitals on Rajinikanth's health stated that the actor is being monitored closely and that he will remain in the hospital tonight and undergo further investigations tomorrow.

The full medical bulletin read: 

"Mr Rajinikanth is being monitored closely and medications to control his blood pressure are being carefully titrated. He will remain in the hospital tonight and undergo further investigations tomorrow. He is stable and is resting. Family and treating doctors have requested all well-wishers to avoid visiting the hospital as he is not being allowed to meet any visitors. His daughter is with him.

Governor of Telangana called and spoke to the doctors and wished him a speedy recovery."

Hours before the recent medical bulletin, a statement from the hospital read, "Because of blood pressure Mr Rajinikanth has been advised complete rest. He and the hospital doctors treating him appeal that he not be disturbed. Also, no visitors are being allowed to meet him as he needs rest without any disturbance."

Before that, to a press release from the hospital stated that the 70-year-old actor does not have any symptoms of COVID-19 and has been admitted to the hospital for close monitoring of his blood pressure.

"Though he did not have any symptoms of COVID-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital," a statement from Apollo Hospitals read. 

"He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged. Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion he does not have any other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable," the statement further read. 

The 'Kabali' actor had been shooting for 'Annaatthe' in Hyderabad for the last few days. The shoot halted after crew members tested positive for COVID-19.

While the superstar tested negative, a couple of people from the sets of the film had tested positive for coronavirus, following which he isolated himself and was being monitored closely. 

It is to mention that Rajinikanth is expected to launch a political party in January 2021. Actor-turned-politician's political advisor Tamilaruvi Manian had said their party will fight on all 234 seats in the next Assembly elections.
