Rajan Nanda no more: Kapoors and Bachchans bereaved, prayer meet to be held today
Rajan, who was ailing for a while, had reportedly slipped into a coma a couple of weeks ago. And, daughter-in-law Shweta even cut short her overseas vacation to fly to Delhi to be at the family home.
Leading industrialist, Rajan Nanda (75) of the Escorts group, passed away on Sunday night in Delhi after a prolonged illness. Rajan was legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s elder son-in-law. He was married to the showman’s oldest daughter Ritu Nanda. He was also Indian cinema icon Amitabh Bachchan’s samdhi. Yes, Shweta Bachchan Nanda is married to the scion of the Nanda family, Nikhil.

It is said that Jaya Bachchan was present in Delhi at the time of his demise. However, Amitabh who was shooting for Brahmastra in Bulgaria was expected to land in the capital shortly thereafter.
Some members of the Kapoor Khandaan were expected to fly to Delhi yesterday to attend the prayer meeting, which is being held at a five-star hotel located in the capital this evening.
