Private jet carrying Sunny Leone diverted due to bad weather

A Mumbai-bound private jet carrying actress Sunny Leone and her husband from Latur in Maharashtra was today diverted to Aurangabad airport because of bad weather.

The pilot of the five-seater Beechcraft King Air C-90 plane, owned by Surat-based air charter firm Kiaan Airways, later decided not to fly further anticipating deterioration in weather conditions, sources said.

The actress, however, claimed that her plane "almost crashed".

"Thank the lord we are all alive! Our private plane almost crashed through bad weather. Counting our stars and driving home! Thank you God," Sunny posted on Twitter.

The "Ragini MMS 2" star also shared a video in which she assured fans that everyone on board escaped unhurt.

"Hey guys, our plane almost just crashed, and now we are in some remote place in Maharashtra. Now we are driving home.

Everybody was freaking out on the aircraft. Thank God we are alive, and we are going home!"

The private jet, which was ferrying Sunny Leone, her husband Daniel Weber and a few friends, took off from Latur for Mumbai earlier today.

However, in mid-air the flight captain anticipated worsening of weather and decided to take some extra fuel in the eventuality of a go-around and diverted the aircraft to Aurangabad, a source said.

But the pilot decided not to proceed with the remaining part of the journey as the weather was not conducive, the source added.

The actress also thanked the pilots for ensuring everyone's safety.

"Our pilots were so amazing. Our lives were in their hands and they saved us," Leone tweeted.
