‘Prince’ ends his rule

Actor Arjun Punj who is currently playing the tycoon Prince in ‘Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki’ will soon be ‘killed’ in the serial. Punj explains his abrupt exit, “Unfortunately they are going ahead with a 20-year-leap for all the characters. A new generation will follow. I am not game to play father of an 18-year-old in the leap!” The dramatic exit will be shot in the next few days.

Incidentally Punj is now shifting his focus to films. It may be recalled that Arjun had made his film debut with Sanjay Gadhvi’s ‘Tere Liye’ which didn’t fare well. He also had a “harrowing experience” whilst completing the recent sex-comedy ‘Time Pass’.

He says, “I am sending feelers to leading banners. Once they know that I am no longer part of a daily soap for 25 days a month, they would be able to cast me in exciting roles.”

On the personal front Arjun is awaiting his winter wedding with actor Gurdip Kohli. He says, “According to the kundali, the auspicious dates fall in December. We will be getting engaged on December 8, followed by the wedding on December 10.”

The couple who have been going steady for the past three years plan to go to South Africa for their honeymoon early next year. The duo will also  appear on MTV’s new show ‘Ishq Deewane’ which requires  couples to go all out to charm each other.
