Model-turned-anchor Pracchi Shah, who was among the Top Ten Finalists of the recently held Mrs Glad Rags contest, has essayed the role of the aristocratic Devyani Rana in an international docudrama titled ‘Zero Hour-A Royal Massacre’.
As is known, the film is based on the real life shootout by prince Dipendra that wiped out almost the entire royal family of Nepal (June 2001).
The docudrama has TV actor Ashish Kapoor playing the late Dipendra. It is directed by the UK-based Clive Maltby and has recently been aired on the Discovery Channel (Europe).
Pracchi, who in real-life has grey eyes, was asked to wear brown contact lenses for the role.
She says, “The docudrama being a reconstruct, I was not supposed to be a look-alike of Devyani. As Devyani was not around during the shootout, I come in only during the flashback scenes when I am shown studying with Dipendra in London.”
She adds, “The brief given to me by Maltby was ‘Don’t act, just be natural’, ”recalls Pracchi.
Incidentally, Pracchi has also shot for the TV show ‘Lucky’ (Star Plus). “Here, I play Eva Menez, an Anglo-Indian character, who is involved with Lucky (Gautam Rode).
The show is supposedly the Indian version of ‘Indiana Jones’,” discloses Pracchi.
