Popular singer of 'gana sangeet' (mass songs) Ajit Pandey died at his south Kolkata residence today after a heart attack, CPI(M) sources said.
He was 75 and is survived by his wife and a son, they said.
A former MLA from Bowbazar constituency in Kolkata, Pandey had left leanings from early age.
CPI(M) state secretary and Left Front chairman Biman Bose condoled Pandey's death.
