Indian music giant T-Series is all set to overtake YouTube star PewDiePie to be the biggest channel on the video sharing platform.

Felix Kjellberg, or PewDiePie as he is known in the digital universe, currently has 65 million subscribers for his YouTube channel. He has held the title of 'Channel with Most Subscribers' for five years now. India's T-Series is now emerging as the challenger for this top post.

The music production company currently has 60,321,490 subscribers and more than 47 billion views across the videos. The music company attracts subscribers that enjoy the songs from Bollywood and various Indian artists. With YouTube favouring musical artists over commentators like PewDiePie, T-Series will have no issues claiming the number one spot very soon.

According to a YouTube tracker Social Blade, T-Series is adding 141,000 subscribers per day as compared to 30,000 subscribers rate of PewDiePie. The estimates of Social Blade suggest that T-Series could move past PewDiePie by November or early 2019 latest.

But don't think for a second that this will be a smooth transition. PewDiePie recently posted a video asking his supporters to fight back. In a funny video, he challenged the music company in a battle until death.

It is highly unlikely that a music company will accept this challenge and encounter this attack with a diss track or comments all over. But something along these lines is being done by the followers of PewDiePie.

According to a report by The Verge, fans of the YouTube star are reporting T-Series channel and allegedly leaving bad comments and down votes for the videos.

Fans of the Indian music company are not far behind. And turns out singer Amaal Mallik supports this battle.

While EDM star Alan Walker made his allegiance clear.

Addressing the issue, Neeraj Kalyan, President, T-Series, who also heads the Digital division said, "It's a matter of pride for all Indians that an Indian YouTube Channel will soon be world's biggest channel on YouTube. But it seems a set of overzealous PewDiePie fans are negatively spamming T-Series channel on YouTube. I would like to inform them that we are not perturbed by this kind of behaviour.

"T-Series is a well-respected platform for Indian music and promoting new talent is part of our DNA. We will continue to build and grow our fan base globally. No amount of spamming will be able to hold back the power of good music."

"PewDiePie is indeed a good channel and there is no competition between T-Series & PewDiePie as both have different sets of audiences. I wish all the very best to PewDiePie," he said in a statement sent to DNA.
