After a Liverpool student asked former Beatle about music courses, McCartney said that though he finds it "flattering", music couldn't be taught, and studying popular music can't produce popular musicians, the Mirror reported.

McCartney added that "we just loved our popular music: Elvis (Presley), Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, etc. and they felt it would have ruined it to study it." McCartney, 72, said that when he found out that The Beatles was in his kid's history books, he found it "unbelievable".
