Veteran filmmaker Vasanth S. Sai’s latest feature, Sivaranjani and Two Other Women will have its North American premiere next month at the Tiburon International Film Festival in California. The film, which recently won the Best Film Award within the Asian Cinema Competition at the 2019 Bangalore International Film Festival has been reaping in acclaim and prizes in festival travels since October.

Based on the stories of prolific Tamil writers, the film is a heart-warming study of women in modern-day India with arresting performances from Parvathy Thiruvothu, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, and Kalieswari Srinivasan. After debuting at the 2018 Mumbai International Film Festival, the film went on to screen in Kerala, Pune, and Goteberg (Sweden) – where it was consistently received with praise from critics and audiences alike.

Sivaranjani and Two Other Women will be screening at Tiburon on Sunday, April 14. Parvathy was part of 2018 Malayalam films such as Koode and My Story.  In Tamil, the film is titled as Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum and has editing by multiple national award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad. The movie also stars Sunder Ramu (known for his role in Mayakkam Enna), Marimuthu, and Karunakaran in important roles. Parvathy is also shooting for Malayalam film Virus directed by Aashiq Abu, which is based on the 2018 Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala.
