Yash Raj Films' latest offering - Daawat-e-Ishq - has opened to poor responses at the box office on its first day. The film could only rake in approximately Rs 3.75 crore on its opening day.
The Parineeti Chopra-Aditya Roy Kapur starrer had struck a chord with the youth and it was hugely promoted as well. The stars were even on a food yatra to promote their film. Although it opened bigger than Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat, yet the collections were much lower than what was expected.
After such poor response on the opening day, both the films need to show decent growth in the weekends to put up a good show at the box office.
